该试剂盒采用*的蓝色荧光染料（Pacific Blue的优越替代物，使用Pacific Blue通道检测）标记的Annexin V检测凋亡细胞，同时包含PI红色荧光染料用于对坏死细胞进行染色。目前商业化各种Annexin V凋亡检测试剂盒一般是将Annexin V进行传统的荧光团（FITC、Cy3）标记后作为荧光探针，通过检测细胞凋亡早期细胞膜外翻的磷脂酰丝氨酸（Phosphatidylserine, PS），从而实现对细胞凋亡的检测。然而目前的检测受到荧光颜色、荧光强度和检测灵敏度等因素的限制。Cell Meter Annexin V Binding Apoptosis Assay Kit系列产品分别采用了mFluor Violet和iFluor荧光染料，这种染料比传统的FITC、Cy3等具有更高的荧光强度、更低的荧光背景和更优秀的光稳定性，因此检测效果更灵敏稳定。
